It might not feel like it, but the end of 2021 is drawing rapidly nearer and it’s time to start thinking about all the things there are to be excited about next year. While I might not have concrete plans in place, I’m excited for 2022 as a chance to start fresh, hopefully with a bit more freedom than we’ve had over the last couple of years, and a renewed sense of positivity. Here are four reasons that I am excited about 2022.

Starting a brand new planner
Okay, it might make some people roll their eyes, but I am a total planner nerd. We’re all geeky about something, right?! I’m really excited about the process of choosing the new planner that is going to take me into the new year and guide me through all of the experiences that are ahead of me. I’m generally quite a busy person, so planning my life takes a high level of organisation and a pretty planner is the only way to keep me on task – it needs to be pretty so that I keep coming back to it! A new planner is a fresh start and a chance for all kinds of new opportunities and experiences.
Growing my social media
I’ve spent a lot of time this year learning about how to grow my social media, and I’m really excited to get more serious about the business of blogging in 2022 and increase my reach. I’ve loved seeing the effect that Reels have had on Instagram and I’m really excited to make some fresh new content that hopefully my followers are going to love, and I hope to make some new friends and learn some new skills along the way.
Thinking about travelling
While the world has stood still for lots of the last two years, my mind certainly hasn’t! I’ve definitely got the travel bug, and I’d love for it to be safe enough for my family and I to go on some kind of trip in 2022. I don’t necessarily need a tropical beach in my life (not that I’d say no to it!) but a change of scenery is definitely needed to get rid of the daily stresses of life and be able to just enjoy some quality time together as a family.
Prioritising rest and fun
On the subject of travelling – one thing I’m going to make sure I am doing in 2022 is making resting and having fun a couple of my top priorities. The Queen has got us all off to a good start with the gift of an extra bank holiday next year, but I’m looking forward to looking at my schedule and really building downtime into my daily life. I always saw rest as something you did when you had nothing else to do, but that lead to many weeks with no time for real rest – here’s to a much more chilled out year next year!
