There is no doubt that technology is one of the things that has changed the world in the most ways, and certainly the biggest innovation since the Industrial age. Research and development has escalated faster than ever before in the last 100 years, while the world also becomes more accessible to the everyday person. It would be impossible to count all of the ways that technology has changed our lives, but I have put together a short list of what I think are the biggest ones. Here are four ways technology has changed the world.

Drones show us more than we have ever seen

For as long as there have been explorers and cartographers, we have had a pretty good idea about what the world looks like. However, there have always been gaps in our knowledge, and thanks to drone technology those gaps have been filled. Drones like those made by Matrice 300 are responsible for soaring above our heads or scuttling beneath our feet depending on the model, and can get to all of those places that humans cannot easily go. They are also useful for cinematographers and vloggers alike, boosting creativity in many ways.

Being able to find help across the world

People always say that it’s a small world, but when you need something and don’t know where to start, the world can feel huge and very scary. The internet has been fantastic at linking people in all sorts of ways, which improves accessibility in the travel industry and can also help you with making life-changing decisions such as moving to a whole new place. Moving is a huge endeavour and most of us tend to call in favours from friends when it comes to moving things back and forth, but moving to another country makes things a little bit more difficult. Before the internet, moving to America would be so much more difficult, but now all you have to do is search ‘moving company Orlando’ and you will receive hundreds of recommendations in seconds, making the whole experience a lot less daunting.

Virtual reality aids medical innovation

Medical research is conducted every single day, making life-changing conclusions more and more rapidly as time goes on, and this has everything to do with the technology that is available to them. There have been advancements made with 3D printed models of body parts, while companies like healthleadersmedia.com give medical students the opportunity of learning through virtual reality so that they can become experts before even meeting a patient. This gives medical professionals the opportunity to practice procedures, eliminating mistakes and making new discoveries that can change the face of medicine forever.

Access to work has been improved

There are a few ways that access to work has got better thanks to technological developments, but it was proved better than ever during 2020 when the majority of people were forced to work from home. This proved that many roles had the capability of being done remotely, thanks to cloud servers and online conferencing, which in turn has opened the door for many people to find employment where they may not have been able to previously. There are all kinds of reasons that somebody couldn’t go out to the workplace, from mobility to childcare commitments and so much more, and so the idea that you can set up an office in the comfort of your own home and produce the same level of work has been truly life changing for many.

There are so many more ways that technology has changed lives, from making friends at a distance to ordering your weekly shopping. How has technology changed your life?
