Here are five ways to elevate your kitchen makeover. I am somebody who has always got my next big project being planned in my head.
I love to mentally plan out my home decor and fantasise about making my interior design as good as the home of my dreams. Over the years of mentally planning my living space, I have learned how simple decisions can make a world of difference to your end result, so I thought I would share some of them with you.

Use metallic accents
I am all about neutrals and metallics at the moment, and I think the kitchen is the perfect place to let yourself be free to do this kind of decor. There are lots of metallic elements in your kitchen already – think of your pots and pans, your fridge etc – so enhance what you have already got by adding small gold accents on neutrals like dark green and khaki. This will elevate your kitchen and really take it up a notch.
Treat yourself to new worktops
The worktops are arguably the main feature of your kitchen; they are the hub of all activity, and their colouring has the power to elevate your entire decor. That’s why you want to make sure that you get quality countertops, such as granite or quartz. Many people don’t know the difference between granite and quartz kitchen worktops, but it is quite simple. While they are equally hard wearing and aesthetically pleasing, granite is more natural than quartz, which is made by mixing natural quartz with polymer resin. Quartz or granite would both make excellent options for your countertops.
Have plants in your decor
I love the idea of bringing elements of the great outdoors into my interior design, and that definitely includes using as many plants as I can, as well as making a space feel great, plants also help with significantly improve the quality of air in your home or office space. It is proven that plants make you feel happier, which is exactly why they are a great option for bringing natural colour into your space and help elevate your kitchen. Go for hanging plants to ensure you do not use up any of your precious kitchen space, and if you have any pets, make sure that the plants you are buying are safe around animals.
Make use of natural lighting
If you are lucky enough to have big windows or even a conservatory to the side of your kitchen, make the most of the natural lighting and use it to inspire a happy and uplifting kitchen space, which is always important when your kitchen is the main area of your home. Ensure that the areas providing the most natural light are kept clear, and use white furnishings to enhance any lighting that you do have, which also makes your space feel more open and peaceful.
Avoid clutter
If you have cluttered countertops, no matter how much you clean it, it will always look messy. That’s why it’s essential to design your kitchen with a plan in mind to hide unused utensils and equipment. Hanging pots and pans are a great solution, as well as magnetic wall mounts for your knives. If you plan your kitchen cleverly, you can utilise every space.
As well as cupboard space-saving tools that can utilise this often cluttered space. Cupboard shelving, cupboard drawers, are just some of the ideas that you can use to make this space more efficient.
